The knowledge of cement storage silos
Cement storage silos, also called bulk cement tanks and
cement silos, are generally used in the bulk cement storage in concrete batching plants. The
cement silo is a kind of sealed tank for the storage of bulk materials such as grain, cement, pulverized fuel ash, etc. These silos are equipped with a material level measuring system, which can display the level and the amount of the material, and an anti-blockage device which can relieve the solidification caused by the material deposition for too long. When cement silos are used with spiral delivery pumps, they can transport the materials to every position. The silo is easy to install, safe and reliable, an ideal bulk storage tank for various batching plants.
Structure
The composition of cement silos
The composition of cement silos (cement tanks) includes steel structure parts of silos, ladders, guardrails, feeding pipes, dust collectors, pressure relief valves, high and low level gauges, discharge valves and so on.
Description of dust removal systems, arch breaker devices and material level devices
Dust removal systems: The top of the cement silo is equipped with an electric dust removal device, which can effectively absorb the suspended particles in the silo and reduce the pollution to the surroundings.
Arch breaker devices: The lower cone of the cement silo is equipped with a blowing arch breaker. The miniature magnetic exchange valve in the air control box is used to control the release of compressed air to break the arch of cement and various powders and thus to prevent powder accumulation from causing blockages.
Material level devices: The material level device can sense the storage height of the material in the silo.
Structural features
The cement silo (cement tank) adopts a cylindrical structure, and the bottom is supported by four round tube legs. The whole silo is of steel structure welded together with a dust removal device and a pressure relief valve on the top.
1. Normally, the cement tank is used for the concrete batching plant.
2. The cement tank is suitable for storing bulk cement and dry fly ash. It has the characteristics of being rainproof, moisture proof and convenient. The specification can be customized according to our customers.
3. The silo generally adopts a cylindrical supporting structure, with a dust removal device in the upper part to prevent dust leakage, and a arch breaker in the lower part to prevent powder accumulation, so that the powder is discharged smoothly. The silo is also equipped with material level sensors, which displays the level of the materials inside at any time.
4. Generally, the bulk cement truck is used to feed the powder into the silo. According to the different structures of the cement silo, there are two ways to discharge the material. One is that the lower part is connected with the screw conveyor, and the powder conveyor is used to feed the powder. The second way is by pneumatic conveying (for special structure of cement tanks).
Matters needing attention
- Turn on the vibration motor for 2-3 minutes, before and after the ash is injected into the tank by the bulk cement truck.
- Stop the ash injecting once the silo’s alarm goes off so as to prevent damage to the dust-proof processor.
- Check whether the dust filter element is clogged or not when the air outlet is not smooth, and clean it in time if blocked.
- Tie the filter element up 2-3 rounds before cleaning it, in case of its deformation.
- Ensure that the filter element is dry when you install and use it.
- Change the filter element timely if its dust removal performance is poor after repeatedly cleaned.
