Weather resistance of the anti-corrosion coating of storage tank
While the petroleum industry continues to develop, the storage of oil products has become a key issue facing us.
The corrosion of the oil storage tank is a big problem. There are many easy-to-corrode parts of the oil tank, and the reasons are complicated. The oil stored in the tank often contains corrosive chemicals such as hydrogen, sulfur compounds, organic and inorganic salts, and moisture. Moreover, The exterior of the tank is corroded by environmental factors. All these greatly shorten the life of the storage tank.
If anti-corrosion treatment cannot be carried out in time, the increased corrosion will not only cause damage to the equipment, cause storage tank leakage, but also affect the safe production of the oil depot and affect the quality of the oil.
Corrosion of oil tank can be divided into: corrosion of tank wall, corrosion of bottom plate, corrosion of top plate. Corrosion occurs on both the inner and outer sides of the tank wall, the upper and lower sides of the tank bottom plate and the tank top plate, but the degree of corrosion is different from the cause.
Considering the long service life of the outer wall of the storage tank, the coating should have a long anti-corrosion period, so it is appropriate to choose a primer with good anti-rust performance, a medium coating with good shielding properties and a topcoat with good light and color retention, good weather resistance, easy overcoating and maintenance.
The exposed outer wall of the oil tank is prone to atmospheric corrosion and is often attacked by rain, snow, frost, fog and humid air. The corrosion of the outer wall depends on the specific environment of the oil storage tank: under outdoor sunlight, the ultraviolet light will damage the outer coating of the oil storage tank more seriously. If the oil storage tank is at the seaside, it will be corroded by the acid and alkali of the marine atmosphere. If it is an oil storage tank in an oil refinery, there will be corrosion of chemical gases.
For the weather resistance of the paint coating on the outer wall of the oil tank, it is necessary to add anti-aging additives to improve its anti-aging performance, and resistance to chemical corrosion and harsh weather conditions. It should have excellent gloss retention and color retention, no powdering, no yellowing, excellent oil resistance and solvent resistance, and good coatability. Also, it should provide excellent protection to acrylic resin, polyurethane and other coating resins and various pigments.
