What Is A Heat Exchanger and Its Transfer Area?
1. What is a heat exchanger?
A
heat exchanger is a device that transfers heat from a hotter fluid to another cooler fluid.
2. What is the heat transfer area of the heat exchanger?
Heat transfer area is the outer surface area of the tube calculated based on the outer diameter of the heat transfer tube, after deducting the length of the heat transfer tube that sticks into tube sheet. For U-tube heat exchangers, the area of the U-shaped bend is generally not included.
